ABSTRACT
Institute for Building Science and Technology - Some remarkable research
results in 2006 (pp. 3-8)
A/Prof. Dr.cao duy tien, Dr. Vu thi ngoc van
This paper
presents some remarkable research results gained in the year of 2006 by
Institute for Building Science and Technology in the following aspects:
scientific research themes conducted, building standard and codes developed and
the economic non-productive &international cooperation Projects. By
presenting the research results obtained in 2006, the authors of the paper
would like to seek the cooperation by individuals, organizations that are
interested in the building science and technology field.
Modelling
of structures for wind tunnel (pp. 9-15)
MEng.Vu Thanh Trung
In this
paper, the author presents the modelling of structures for wind tunnel that is
one of the most important works. Also, this work effects to testing results in
wind tunnel. There are three types of model, namely rigid model, rotation
model, aeroelastic model. The modelling of structures for wind effects requires
knowledge of dimensional analysis and the theory of modelling.
Researchers of IBST will have to master these problems, so that help to operate
the wind tunnel at IBST.
Application
of modern surveying equipment to controlling the proceeding of the water
leading tunnel of the A Vuong hydro-power plant excavated from the two ends (pp. 16-19)
Dr. ngo van hoi
According to
the construction measure, the 5.3km-long water leading tunnel of the A Vuong
hydro-power plant, Quang Nam province, must be proceeded from the two ends with
a tolerance of ± 10cm. Therefore, the control of the correct alignment
of the tunnel, in terms of line and grade, is an important task. In this paper,
the author presents the application of modern surveying equipment such as: GPS
receiver TRIMBLE 4600LS, high-precision total station LEICA TC-1800,.. to
controlling the proceeding of the said tunnel excavated from the two ends. By
skill and experience, this task was completed successfully by the Surveying
engineering Department (IBST). Two branches of the tunnel proceeded from two
ends has connected to each other with an error of only 69mm in plan and 22mm in
elevation.
Calculation
of reinforced concrete cross-section subject to small eccentrical press
according to tcxdvn 356:2005 (pp. 20-24)
MEng. Dang The Anh
This paper
presents a method for determining the height of the compression zone (x) of
reinforced concrete (RC) cross-section subject to small eccentrical press according
to TCXDVN 356:2005 [1]. Based on suppositions and basic conditions in [1], a
cubic equation is formed to calculate x accurately. To avoid the complexity of
solving the equation, the author suggests some approximate formula for
calculating x in practice. In this paper, the non-dimensional interaction
diagrams according to [1], an useful tool for designing and checking the
eccentrical press R.C members, and its formulation have been established.
Restoration of the turning angles of the corridor's
segments of N0.1 and N0. 4 in the Forbidden Purple
City (pp. 25-30)
Arch. Nguyen Minh Khoi, Dr. Nguyen Tien Binh
This paper
presents the design solution applied for restoration of the turning angles of
the corridor's segments N0.1 and N0. 4 in the Forbidden Purple City
- Great Enclosure of Hue
Citadel. The design solution was prepared based on the remaining traces of the
said corridor's segments, the remaining foundation and a theoretical analysis.
In addition, the solution wasalso completed by referring to the photos taken
from the existing state of the Forbidden wall and the opinions by experienced
high-class carpenters.
Zoning
for predicting the stability of dike system under action of permeable flow
through the base - An example of Hanoi dike system (pp. 31-35)
Dr. Sc.
tran manh lieu
Based on the mechanism of damage process due to the permeable flow
through the dike's base, the author of the paper presents the principles of the
zoning for predicting the stability of dike system after two parameters, namely
K (the coefficient that indicates the possibility against the burst of soil)
and Igh (the limit gradient for soil pushing). Nearby - dike zone is
considered as stable when Idn < Igh, K > 1, and it
is considered unstable when Idn > Igh, K > 1, and
very unstable when Idn > Igh, K < 1. In the paper,
the zoning for predicting the stability of the Red river
and Duong river (in the North of Vietnam) system were dealt with.
Concrete
standards in Vietnam
- the existing situation and the tendency of international integration (pp.
36-40)
MEng. Truong Thi Hong Thuy
In this
paper, the author presents, in detail, the existing situation of the Vietnam
standard system for concrete including the number of concrete standards in
different industries (construction, transportation and irrigation), the
institutions that manage and issue the standards, the lay-out and detailed
content of the standards,.. and compare them with the actual development
requirements to find out the strong point as well as the weak point of this
system. From this, the author points out the contents of the renovation and
re-planning cause for the Vietnam
concrete standard system in order to integrate into the related international
standard system.
The
change of transportation noise level in period of 10 years of Hanoi (pp. 41-45)
Prof. Dr.Pham Ngoc Dang, Arch.Pham
Ngoc Hong
This paper presents monitoring results of the
change of yearly average transportation noise level in period of 10 years in
Hanoi, presents the change of average traffic volume and average noise level
per hour during working, weekend, rain and sunny days in some main streets of
Hanoi.
This
paper also presents forecast of transportation noise level in some main streets
of Hanoi to the year of 2010, and presents
measures for reducing transportation noise level in Hanoi.
